The Road to the Super Bowl

Super Bowl 50 is just a few days away. No matter if you are rooting for the Broncos or Panthers, it’s always fun to know a little bit about the history of the game and it’s famous location- Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.

  1. The Super Bowl was first played in 1967, following the 1966 regular season.
  2. It was created as a merger between the NFL and the AFL, the American Football League.
  3. The winning team is awarded the Vince Lombardi Trophy.
  4. The game is an unofficial American holiday and is termed “Super Bowl Sunday.”
  5. In 2015, Super Bowl XLIX became the most-watched American television program in history.

Tomorrow, I take a deeper look into the game’s famous location.
